The Addison's Patients and their Symptoms.
I would like to give a huge vote of thanks to everyone who completed and returned to me a survey questionnaire on the signs & symptoms of Addison's disease.
Thanks to all who took the time to complete a questionnaire, (and I know it was of necessity a long one). The survey is now closed after receiving just over 100 completed forms. I have analysed all the results and calculated the final figures.
I believe it to be the most comprehensive survey, in terms of the depth of questioning, and of the number of replies I have most gratefully received, ever to have been carried out on this insidious disease which plagues so many forgotten people worldwide.
It has taken me some considerable time, around 9 months, for me to complete the analysis. In total the survey has taken two years to complete.
Please click on the link below to visit the most complete survey ever carried out on the incidence rates and frequency of the signs & symptoms of Addison's Disease.
Thank you once again to all those who have sent in a completed survey questionnaire.

With a known frequency of between 1:24000 and 1:100000 (it varies from country to country) I estimate that there are between 36000 and 150000 of us (despite the low percentage) amongst the world's population of around 6 billion. This means that this one survey has managed to attract replies from approximately 0.1% of all the Addison's Disease patients in the world.
Be proud of yourselves! Especially as I was only able to produce the questionnaire in English. Whilst this is one of, if not the most, commonly spoken languages worldwide, that does mean that there were an awful lot of patients who would have regrettably been unable to complete a form for me.
Of the world's English speaking population, again the number able to complete the survey was governed by those who found ADNetwork's website, which now attracts currently well over 30 000 hits per year.
No individual patient is identified or identifiable in the report.
